Im by zero means an expert, but Ive changed mine out twice nowadays (read on).
When I changed outer my water heart, thermostat, elevation and radiator, I felt it would be appropriate to change out the clutch fan also. I had read someplace that a pitiful clutch fan can weaken a new water pump and allow it to leak earlier. Not to mention that it could allow the vehicle to overheat. My old one had a rusted coil, I did clean it up, but I didnt suffer alot of faith in it. Clutch is cheap, replacing an locomotive is non.

You can test your with the newspaper trick, envision to a lower place.

Heres a great video, although on a 3rd gen. Fan is not quite this easy to get call at a 4th gen.

This is also helpful, see post #8. Commemorate that we have a 4th gen, this is a 3rd gen yarn, so cut that part 3. You want to order a

Aisin FCT-072 Engine Cooling system Fan Prehend

So I got a taxonomic category one from Amazon. It worked well, drove to FL and back, cast 5000 miles on it. Really didnt have whatsoever issues, only information technology was blaring. Good a big like an aircraft in first-year gear mechanism.

So I ordered an OEM Aisin and it arrived from Virago. Here is what information technology should look the likes of if it is OEM. Pics of worn OEM buff first. 130000 miles.
AFTER I cleaned up the rust, yeah, still ugly.

New fan after blade installed. 65 INCH lbs.

I should note that the OEM fan weighed 4 more ounces than the knockoff. I suspect there is an issue there, and maybe something that caused it to equal taboo of proportionality. Weigh your fan.

I very didnt want to take the whole sports fan concealment dispatch again. Its kindof a bitch and you oft have to remove a several clamps & hoses. Its a rattling tight fit, and you have to tumble on this tiny ledge. So I wanted to see if I could change it without doing so. I took some measurements and found you dismiss change the winnow without removing the fan cover.

You will have to remove the top engine breed, and drainpipe enough coolant stunned from on a lower floor to empty the top radiator hosiery. Roughly 2/3 gallon. Give it a couple of squeezes to move fluid.

After this, bu remove the top hose. Use vice grips to grab the clamps and slide them. Do not undertake this without the vice grips, extremely frustrating.

Hera is a pic with the hose distant later on svelte drainpipe. Notice overflow is nonmeaningful as well.

Then remove the fan nuts with 12mm wrench. They are snug, but dandy to take.

Here is the new buff going in.

Once back on the studs, torsion to 15ft lbs, put the upper hosepipe back on and fill again coolant. Verify belt happening and water pump pulley-block is fully seated (it will come forward well-nig 3mm when you take the fan off.)

    Enjoy the quiet OEM fan.

Thanks for the pictures and information here. My only question is (and delight forgive me for this likely stupid dubiousness) how did you drain the coolant from the hose before you removed it?
Trying to practice this fix for my SO, merely only sportsmanlike realized I would as wel have to hit the fan cover unless I followed your direction (sentiment the picture you connected was for a 4th gen, not a 3rd)

Thanks for the info on the 3rd vs 4th gen. I also saw that youtube and when I looked under my hood I didn't think out it looked that straightforward. And the manual talked around removing the top shroud and hoses and the reservoir.

Regrettably I am happening the moving in a camping area, so if I have to drain coolant at all I think I'm active to have to get a shop to do the install. Shame since I have the wrenches and am pick skyward the clutch tomorrow. I thinking it seemed too panduriform to comprise true!

Since this thread was reanimated with a head...

Extended every bit you have a pail operating theatre gal jug or something to overtake your coolant, look underneath your bumper on the drivers side for the last part of your radiator. Connected the corner will be a small fictile quarter turn valve. Undecided that and you can drain a large portion of your coolant to then be able to remove those upper hoses with littler to nobelium spillage. Then its business as was common

Oh I recognize that. But campgrounds commonly aren't thrilled about auto repairs connected the grounds at the best of times. Draining coolant wouldn't cost screechy connected their listing.
If I can win over the parts shop to let me do it in their lot, then we're Okey. I have the wrenches, vice grips, sta towels and I'm sure I can find a low pressure buckety container someplace in the trailer. If I butt find an acceptable locale to work in I'll give it a go. Here's hoping!!
